Project: Enclosure for External AC Unit – Carlyle Square, London

Sound Planning has designed, supplied and installed a QuietBox 2 (Multi-Vent) acoustic enclosure around a Daikin VRV IV external AC unit.

The enclosure achieves a 15 dB(A) sound reduction and minimises airflow resistance to acceptable tolerances for available static pressure.

Outlet / Inlet air flow separated by internal ‘septum’ acoustic foam to prevent recirculation of warm / cold air within the enclosure and therefore maintain optimum efficiency.

Lift off access louvres (front & left) provide service access for AC service engineers.

Designed to meet Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC) target noise levels at the nearest noise sensitive receivers (BS4142: 2014+A1: 2019 & RBKC Target Noise Levels).

The enclosure was polyester powder coated in classic RAL colour as selected by homeowners, providing a durable finish that complements the surrounding property.
